How do I modify my account information?

Account Settings Overview

GRYYD provides account management tools in the Settings page, allowing you to update your profile information, security credentials, and preferences.

Accessing Settings

1. Click your profile avatar in the top-right corner of the dashboard
2. Select "Settings" from the dropdown menu
3. Navigate to the relevant section for what you want to modify

What You Can Modify

Display Name

Update how your name appears in the dashboard and communications.

How to Change:

1. Go to Settings > Account
2. Update the "Name" field
3. Changes save automatically

Email Address

Your email is used for login, password resets, and important notifications.

Note: Email addresses cannot be changed directly for security reasons. If you need to update your email, please contact our support team at gryyd@metric-studio.com with your account details.

Password

Update your password regularly for security, especially if you suspect it's been compromised.

How to Change:

1. Go to Settings > Security > Password
2. Click "Change Password"
3. Enter your current password
4. Enter your new password (min 10 characters, uppercase letter, and special character required)
5. Confirm your new password
6. Click "Update Password"

Security Note: Changing your password logs you out from all devices. You'll need to log back in everywhere with your new password.

Password Best Practices

Create Strong Passwords:

• Use 12+ characters
• Mix uppercase, lowercase, numbers, and symbols
• Avoid common words or patterns
• Don't reuse passwords from other sites

Use a Password Manager: We recommend using tools like 1Password, LastPass, or Bitwarden to:

• Generate strong random passwords
• Securely store all your credentials
• Auto-fill login forms across devices

Account Security

Protect Your Account:

• Never share your password with anyone
• Use a unique password for GRYYD
• Change your password if you suspect unauthorized access
• Log out from shared or public computers

If You Suspect Compromise:

1. Change your password immediately
2. Contact gryyd@metric-studio.com if you notice suspicious activity
3. Review your recent projects and drafts for unauthorized changes

Common Questions

Can I change my username? GRYYD uses your email for login, not usernames. You can change your display name anytime.

Can I change my email? Email addresses cannot be changed directly. Contact gryyd@metric-studio.com if you need to update your email address.

How often can I change my password? As often as you like. There are no limits on password changes.
